Tamara Huckert

Tamara has spent nearly her entire legal career handling employment law matters. Her practice focuses on employment counseling, negotiation, and litigation, including handling claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and North Carolina’s Retaliatory Employment Discrimination Act. Tamara also regularly handles wage and hour claims and issues, whistleblower cases, and general litigation matters.

Tamara was recognized in the 24th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America in Litigation – Labor and Employment. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by the North Carolina Super Lawyer since 2017, “Legal Elite” in the Category of Employment Law by North Carolina Business Magazine since 2015, “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers from 2014-2016 and holds a Martindale Hubbell “AV Preeminent” rating.

Tamara is active in the Charlotte legal community. She is a past President of the Women Lawyers of Charlotte, after actively participating on the Board as the Treasurer (2016), Membership Committee Chair (2015), Programs Committee Co-Chair (2013-2014), and serving on the Nominating and Public Service Committees. Tamara is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, where she is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section, and North Carolina Advocates for Justice, where she is a member of the Women’s Caucus and the Employment Law sections.

Tamara is a North Dakota native, who now resides in the Charlotte area with her husband, and the family pets. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to visit her grown children, and getting off the beaten path. Tamara joined Chris Strianese in 2015, and they formed Strianese Huckert, LLP in 2017. They share the same values, approach to handling employment law matters, and commitment to providing exceptional client service. Tamara understands that being involved in an employment dispute can be a difficult and trying experience in a person’s life and works hard to help her clients accomplish their goals. Tamara takes a practical and strategic approach to litigation and has significant trial experience in North Carolina courts. Tamara is eager to put her experience to work for anyone in need of an experienced employment lawyer.
