Tamara Huckert – Attorney Profile
Tamara has spent nearly her entire legal career handling employment law matters. Her practice focuses on employment counseling, negotiation, and litigation, including handling claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination Act, and the Family Medical Leave Act. Tamara also regularly handles wage and hour claims and issues, whistleblower cases, and general litigation matters.
Tamara was recently recognized in the 24th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America in Litigation – Labor and Employment. She has also been recognized as a Super Lawyer by the North Carolina Super Lawyer, “Legal Elite” in the Category of Employment Law by North Carolina Business Magazine since 2015, “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers from 2014-2016. She also holds a Martindale Hubbell “AV Preeminent” rating and is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the National Employment Lawyers Association.
Tamara is active in the Charlotte legal community. She is a past President of the Women Lawyers of Charlotte, after actively participating on the Board as the Treasurer (2016), Membership Committee Chair (2015), Programs Committee Co-Chair (2013-2014), and serving on the Nominating and Public Service Committees. Tamara is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, where she serves on the Lawyer Effectiveness and Quality of Life Committee and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law section, and the Mecklenburg County Bar, where she is a member of the Fee Dispute Resolution Committee and the Small Firm and Labor and Employment law sections.
Tamara is a North Dakota native, who now resides in the Charlotte area with her husband, two children, and the family dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and getting off the beaten path. Tamara joined Chris Strianese in 2015, and they formed Strianese Huckert, LLP in 2017. They share the same values, approach to handling employment law matters, and commitment to providing exceptional client service. Tamara understands that being involved in an employment dispute can be a difficult and trying experience in a person’s life and works hard to help her clients accomplish their goals.
